The FreeSolar Referral Rewards Program offers ANYONE who refers a friend, family, colleague or neighbour (anyone not currently a FreeSolar Client) a Referral Reward when their referral has purchased property with FreeSolar.
The FreeSolar client who is initiating the referral will hereinafter be stated as “client.” The person who was referred by the client will hereinafter be referred to as “friend.”
The FREE installation will only be installed AFTER all of the referral installations are complete and fully connected. No referral reward is offered for referrals that DO NOT meet the purchase and commission minimums.
In order to receive the free rooftop solar system, ALL of the referrals must have closed on their properties within Twenty-Four (24) months of the first referral
For a client to qualify for a referral reward, their name must be indicated as the “Referrer” on the friend’s account.
For this to occur, one of following actions must happen:
The client must complete the FreeSolar Quick Referral Form.
The friend must inform their FreeSolar Advisor or Realtor that they were referred and provide the client’s name, prior to purchasing their home.
The friend must be referred to FreeSolar directly through the FreeSolar portal.
FreeSolar will notify clients of a referral in progress once the friend purchases a property.
In the case where two (or more) FreeSolar clients refer the same friend, the clients will split the reward equally.
This program applies to referrals made after the program’s start date and will continue until we end it, which could come at any time without notification to those participating. The value of the Referral reward may be taxable income to you. You are responsible for any federal or provincial taxes resulting from the Referral reward.
The maximum size of the referred rooftop solar system will be 4kW which will consist of a maximum of 10 solar panels.
Minimum Purchase Price Packages
If the transaction does not meet the minimum purchase price and commission requirements, FreeSolar is under no obligation to offer the free solar panel promotion to the Client.
Installation Delays
Occasionally, issues arise that can delay the installation process of the solar panel package. Supply chain, permitting, Covid-19 delays etc.
Historically, solar is an industry where most things are done offline. There is a lot that goes into getting a solar system up and running beyond just installing solar equipment.
FreeSolar has until 36 months after the closing date to commence the installation process on the Client's property.
Partnership Liabilities
FreeSolar's exclusive real estate partner, is a separate entity and not subject to any terms agreed to between the Client and FreeSolar.
Minimum Property Requirements
There are minimum requirements needed for a property to handle a solar panel array. Roofing, wiring and electrical panel must be upgraded in order to handle the increased load of a solar panel system. It is up to the Client to make the necessary property adjustments in order to safely install a solar panel system. FreeSolar will not commence a project until the Client has brought the property up to the minimum standards (if necessary).
Alternative Solutions
Not every property can qualify for a solar panel array. In some cases, issues with the property may deem it impossible to install solar panels. If such a case were to arise, FreeSolar will allow the Client to choose a different green energy property upgrade from the following list;
Level 2 Electric Car Charger Equipment and Installation
What Happens if my system breaks or isn't working as expected?
All of the residential solar systems are backed by robust warranties. Once installed, the homeowner officially owns the system, so they will have to cover any cost of repairs outside the scope of the manufacturer warranties.
The good news is that solar panel failures are rare. According to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the chances of this happening are 0.05% or 5 in 10,000 cases. If a solar panel does fail, the manufacturer will either repair the panel or replace it altogether.
Will my home solar system have a warranty?
All of the solar equipment is backed by manufacturer warranties.
How long do solar panels really last?
Solar Panels can last anywhere between 20-30 years, sometimes more. This does not mean that the panels will stop producing electricity after 20-30 years. It just means that their energy production will decrease by what solar manufacturers consider optimal to meet the average household's energy needs. With proper care and maintenance, you can expect to receive significant solar benefits for the next 20-30 years.
Installation and Site Suitability Considerations
Roof Must be Free of Complex shapes and edges and the age of the asphalt shingles must be less than 8 years old. Roof can handle structural load required to support solar.
Wiring in home MUST be up to modern standards, panel rating adequate for solar Electrical system can accommodate solar and electrical room has room for an inverter Primarily unshaded during core sun hours (10am - 2pm) Clear, sky view, preferably south facing direction, (East or West is okay too) free of obstructions, sloped roof with adequate space for solar array
